A Chicago Center of Excellence in Learning Health Systems Research Training (ACCELERAT)

Developing the Next Generation of Health System Leaders

A Chicago Center of Excellence in Learning Health Systems Research Training (ACCELERAT) was established to develop the next generation of health system transformation leaders. Four scholars have been chosen to participate. The program is anchored by a tightly integrated team of Northwestern University researchers and Northwestern Medicine health care quality experts, along with the living laboratory of the 11 health care institutions that form CAPriCORN.

ACCELERAT serves as a national leader in teaching core Learning Health System (LHS) research competencies to future LHS leaders. To support ACCELERAT, CAPriCORN has made available data query tools, CHAIRb, record linkage support, and access to the care settings of CAPriCORN institutions. Scholars are ensured access, mentorship, and resources necessary for training in LHS-based research.

ACCELERAT is a K12 grant awarded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).
